Ceremony Music

Check first with your wedding site, church or synagogue to be certain what kind of music is permitted. Whether it is a harpist, organist, trumpets, flutist, guitarist, soloist, trio, quartet, or choir be sure to select a professional performer. Ask for a sample of the musicians that you interview. Check their references. No matter how well intended and talented your cousin is, she may be overcome with emotion and give an embarrassing rendition that both of you will never forget.

The music you choose for the 20-40 minutes before the ceremony should be quiet, not overbearing. If the traditional “Wedding March” is not allowed in your church you can choose other classical music. During the vows, the music is usually solemn and the recessional music is usually jubilant.
