A band can bring a room to life and start
all toes tapping. Wedding specialists know
how to appeal to all ages and ethnic
groups. They have an incredible variety of
music at their fingertips and know all the
secrets of getting the guests to dance.
When interviewing a band leader, ask to
see a tape of the group. You will want to
know how long they have played together,
what is their attire, how many are in the
band, who acts as master of ceremonies,
what time they will arrive, how many
breaks they’ll take and the music that will
fill that gap. Can they play requests and if
you want a special song, can they provide
it. It is important to discuss such items as
cost, cost per hour of overtime, are they
available for overtime and the time needed
to set-up and break-down.
As with all vendors, ask for, and
check, references.
